WATERLIN ANNOUNCES OCTOBER OPENING & MENU ITEMS

[ PRESS RELEASE ]

August 12, 2019 (Menomonee Falls, WI) — The newest addition to Menomonee Falls is set to open this October featuring an all-day menu, house-made cocktails and weekday happy hour. As the $3.5 million renovation nears completion, Waterlin will combine an exciting new space with some of the most adventurous food and drink offerings.

The Waterlin menu nods to classics comfort dishes but with a fun modern twist. Main dishes will feature a Roasted Half Chicken presented in a cast-iron skillet with sautéed baby carrots, shallots and sweet peas in a pan jus. On the lightly sweet side, the Braised Veal Shank is prepared with orange gremolata, sweet peas, sautéed baby carrots and shallots. Waterlin tacos, served build-your-own style, lets customers get creative choosing their own meat; braised pork shoulder, roasted chicken in tomato sauce or fried cod. With rustic wood and cast iron to showcase its main entrees, even the plates and utensils give a nod to the yesteryear.

The Waterlin cocktail menu will focus on multiple old fashioneds, both classics and some original inventions. One highlight concoction expected to be popular with both locals and travelers alike is the Waterlin Old Fashioned. While traditional in the Wisconsin style, this version is muddled with Luxardo cherries and oranges, brandy, bitters and topped with soda. The Black Walnut Old Fashioned relies on black walnut bitters and brown sugar giving warmth to a classic. Incorporating a house infusion, the Honey Drip is made with a tea-infused bourbon, apricot jam, lemon juice, honey and ginger beer. All of the specialty cocktails go the extra step to pay homage to Wisconsin’s ice harvesting industry by asking guests, “How do you take your ice? Crushed, Picked, or Cubed?”

In addition to the all-day food and drink menu, Waterlin has partnered with Stone Creek Coffee for its coffee bar. Stone Creek will offer brewed and espresso-based coffee drinks, fruit smoothies and a variety of pastries to serve both guests and folks from the Falls looking for a great coffee spot or a place to hunker down and work. To help bridge the gap between coffee during the day and drinks in the evening, one of the cocktails on the bar menu will feature a house Stone Creek coffee infusion.

Waterlin will be open for all meals of the day. Breakfast is set to start at 6 a.m. and end at 11 a.m.. Lunch will take over until 4 p.m. when dinner will then run until 10 p.m. To cater to working folks, happy hour will run 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday featuring specials on cocktails, appetizers and drinks. As for hours. Waterlin has plans in the future to feature a full brunch.

Waterlin Coffee Bar & Bistro is located in the new Delta Hotel by Marriott. Waterlin pays homage to Wisconsin’s early ice harvesting industry. The name was inspired by historical figures discovered as part of local lore and history but the name spelling has been changed to avoid any copyright issues.

Media tours of the space will be available mid-September.
